Program overview

Dynamic group sessions are for teenagers and adults aged 12 and up. Two instructors jointly teach four students in skiing or snowboarding. They adjust groups and their approach as students’ progress, stamina and confidence change, helping each student learn at a suitable pace.

The focus is on technical skills. The format suits students at similar riding or skiing levels who want to learn the basics or develop their skills together. Children under 12 take part in the Kids Master Program.

Session structure & booking rules

The standard session and booking unit is two hours, with two instructors teaching four students. The two hours are the shared session time for the whole group, and both instructors participate throughout.

Before booking, confirm all four students’ ages, discipline (skiing or snowboarding), current ability and learning goals. Confirm the same resort and time slot, and the arrangements for both instructors.

Groups change with students’ needs. Both instructors share responsibility for the whole class, stay in communication and know which instructor is currently leading each student.

Instructor levels & class configuration

Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 instructors may all teach dynamic group sessions. The standard configuration is the same at every level: two instructors and four students.

The instructors’ specific levels and pairing must match the confirmed session arrangements. Each instructor must teach within their verified qualifications for the discipline. Specialist instruction is subject to the relevant qualification and session requirements.

Teaching philosophy

Safety, trust, enjoyment and joy are at the heart of TXSNOW’s teaching philosophy. With the student at the centre, instructors bring people skills, teaching skills and technical skills together to create a safe, trusting environment where students enjoy learning and want to return. For the full teaching philosophy, see:

Grouping & teaching arrangements

All students in a group must be at least 12 years old, learn the same discipline and have similar ability levels and learning goals. Skiing and snowboarding groups are separate. Friends or family members wishing to take a session together should first confirm that the grouping is suitable.

Dynamic grouping in action

Two instructors dynamically regroup four students and share responsibilities when one student needs help with equipment.

The instructors may begin with two students each, then adjust the groups to reflect learning progress and students’ current needs. For example, if one student needs a slower pace or more explanation, one instructor can continue working with that student while the other leads those ready to move on. The instructors agree on grouping changes together.

Individual needs can also be handled flexibly. For example, if a student needs to visit a service point for a ski, snowboard or binding issue, the instructors can confirm a safe supervision arrangement: one accompanies that student while the other continues practising with the remaining three. This reduces the time others spend waiting because of one student’s temporary need. Compared with a fixed one-instructor, two-student session, this shared approach maintains the overall 1:2 ratio while allowing more flexible individual support and a more continuous learning experience.

On snow, the instructors coordinate their positions at the front and back of the group, sharing route guidance, demonstrations, group coordination and individual feedback. Their roles may change with the terrain and activity. Every student should know which instructor to follow, what to practise and where to meet.

Each session should have clear, observable learning goals. The instructors share their observations so that guidance remains consistent. Follow the SOW and safety procedures for pre-session preparation, post-session feedback and safety requirements.
